• Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Legislative

  Governing body of Fairfax County, consisting of nine district supervisors and one at-large chairman, responsible for setting county policy, adopting the budget, and enacting ordinances.
• Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services Public Works

  Manages solid waste, wastewater, stormwater, and capital facilities for Fairfax County.
• Fairfax County Department of Tax Administration

  Administers tax collection and assessment for real estate, personal property, and business taxes in Fairfax County.
• Fairfax County Executive's Office

  Office of the County Executive, responsible for managing daily operations of Fairfax County government under the direction of the Board of Supervisors.
• Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department Fire

  Provides fire suppression, emergency medical services, rescue, hazardous materials response, and fire prevention services throughout Fairfax County.
• Fairfax County Health Department

  Protects, promotes, and improves the health and quality of life for the diverse community of Fairfax County through disease prevention, health promotion, and environmental health services.
• Fairfax County Police Department Police

  Primary law enforcement agency for Fairfax County, providing police services to over 1.1 million residents.
• Fairfax County Public Schools Education

  One of the largest school districts in the United States and the largest in Virginia, serving approximately 180,000 students across nearly 200 schools.
• Fairfax County Sheriff's Office

  Constitutional office responsible for courthouse security, service of civil and criminal processes, and operation of the Adult Detention Center.
• Office of the Fairfax County Commonwealth's Attorney

  Elected constitutional officer responsible for prosecuting criminal cases in Fairfax County, the Virginia equivalent of a district attorney.
