  Includes the Mayor, the City Clerk/Treasurer and staff. Manages day-to-day city operations: utility billing, taxes, permits, licenses, official records, city events, City Council meetings, the annual budget and complaints. City Hall, 300 West Main Street; Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

• Planning & Zoning Department Planning

  Processes and reviews residential and commercial developments, dimensional variances, conditional uses, zoning changes, building permits, record plats and amended record plats, and maintains historical and current city maps. Permits are applied for through the iWorQ citizen portal; electrical inspections are done only on Wednesdays.

  Street maintenance, snow and ice removal, park maintenance, street signs, public-area clean-up, the city-wide April clean-up, property and litter abatement, fleet maintenance, storm and emergency operations, the water distribution and wastewater collection systems, and city-owned properties.

• Vine Grove Fire Department Fire

  Volunteer-based fire department (est. 1870) with two stations (Station 1, 513 Highland Avenue; Station 2, 106 Crutcher Street) and seven apparatus. Provides 24/7 fire protection, rescue, medical assistance to Hardin County Ambulance Service, home inspections, education, and city emergency management; operates an F5 storm safe room for 480 people.
