Departments

• Polk County Board of County Commissioners Legislative

  The governing body of Polk County, established by the Florida Constitution, serving as the legislative branch of county government. Five commissioners elected from single-member districts meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month.
• Polk County Clerk of Courts Clerk

  Elected constitutional officer serving as Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller for Polk County. Provides court records, recording services, and serves as county comptroller.
• Polk County Fire Rescue Fire

  Provides fire suppression, emergency medical services, and rescue operations throughout unincorporated Polk County and contracted municipalities.
• Polk County Manager's Office

  Head of Polk County government's administrative branch, responsible for the proper administration of all affairs of the county under the direction of the Board of County Commissioners.
• Polk County Property Appraiser's Office

  Elected constitutional officer responsible for property appraisals, exemption filings, and property tax assessments in Polk County.
• Polk County Sheriff's Office

  Law enforcement agency for Polk County, Florida. One of the largest sheriff's offices in Florida, led by nationally known Sheriff Grady Judd since 2005.
• Polk County Supervisor of Elections

  Elected constitutional officer responsible for administering elections, voter registration, and maintaining election records in Polk County.
• Polk County Tax Collector's Office

  Elected constitutional officer responsible for collecting property taxes, issuing driver licenses, motor vehicle registrations, local business taxes, and other services for over 720,000 Polk County residents.
• State Attorney's Office, 10th Judicial Circuit

  Represents the people of the State of Florida in all criminal prosecutions in Polk, Highlands, and Hardee Counties (10th Judicial Circuit).
