• Business Office Finance

  Administers all utility accounts in Louisburg, including utility account information, service applications, work orders, payments, accounts payable, rate structures, and collection of other Town fees. Applications for utility services must be turned in in person with picture ID, application fee and any required deposit.

  The Town of Louisburg manages two cemeteries: Cemetery on the Hill and Oakwood Cemetery.

• Fire Department Fire

  The Louisburg Fire Department provides emergency fire suppression response to the Town of Louisburg and the Central Franklin Fire District, a primary service area of 53 square miles and about 11,650 residents. A combination department of one full-time chief, nine career personnel, ten part-time personnel and about 35 volunteers, staffed 24 hours a day. Offers child passenger safety seat checks and the Alarm Louisburg smoke alarm program.

  Responsible for recruitment and selection, employee relations, position classification, compensation, benefit management, employee training and development, personnel records, wellness, safety and risk management for the Town of Louisburg. Employment questions go to Town Hall at 919-496-3406.

• Louisburg Power Utilities

  As a Public Power Community, Louisburg Power is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Town's electrical grid, serving 491 commercial and 1700 residential customers. After-hours power/electrical emergency line: 919-496-4290. Utility billing: 919-496-3406 x 2.

• Parks & Recreation Parks & Recreation

  Provides parks, nature and walking trails, athletic fields and skateboard areas; park shelters can be scheduled first-come, first-served. Offers youth athletic programs with online registration through REC DESK.

• Planning, Zoning, and Code Enforcement Planning

  The Planning Department administers the Town's land use plans and regulations: land use planning (Louisburg 2030 comprehensive plan), floodplain and watershed management, zoning administration and permits, subdivision plat approval, and code enforcement. Building permits and inspections are administered by the Franklin County Office of Building and Inspections.

• Police Department Police

  The Louisburg Police Department practices Community Oriented Policing; staff include patrol officers, K9 units, investigators, community and school resource officers, supervisors and command staff. Located in the Karl T. Pernell Public Safety Complex, 104 Wade Avenue, Louisburg, NC. Led by Chief Travis Lincoln.

• Property & Street Maintenance Public Works

  Maintains 32 acres of public green space, 25 miles of streets and 7 gateway landscapes, and coordinates street closures, setup and cleanup for town events.

• Solid Waste Utilities

  The Solid Waste Team removes household solid waste from residents' property and disposes of it at the Franklin County Landfill.

• Town Administration Administration

  The Town of Louisburg is managed on a day to day basis by the Town Administrator, who is appointed by the Louisburg Town Council and is responsible for the daily operation and management of the Town. The office includes the Town Administrator and the Town Clerk, at 110 W. Nash Street, Louisburg, NC 27549.

• Water & Sewer Maintenance Utilities

  Responsible for the operations and maintenance of the Town's water distribution system (45 miles of water lines, meters, service connections and fire hydrants) and wastewater collection system (38 miles of sewer lines). After-hours water/sewer emergency line: 919-496-4290.

  Operates the Town's Water Treatment Plant (permitted capacity 2 MGD, drawing raw water from the Tar River) and Water Reclamation Facility (permitted capacity 1.37 MGD).
