• Sewer Department Utilities

  Knob Noster Wastewater Department, made up of three programs: collections (2 pumping stations pumping wastewater to the lagoon), treatment (ultraviolet light system, pumps and an irrigated field, with two certified Wastewater Operators) and labwork (lagoon testing reported to DNR). Inquiries go to City Hall at 660-563-2595, Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM; after-hours utility emergencies go to Johnson County Dispatch at (660) 747-5511.

• Utilities Department Utilities

  Knob Noster provides trash, water and sewer utilities to residents, overseen by the Utility Clerk, who handles billing for water, sewer and trash, utility payments, the annual drinking water report, water activation/shut-off requests, Missouri One Call reports and water work orders. Bills are due the 15th of each month, late fees apply on the 16th and shut-off occurs on the 26th. Trash service is contracted to GFL Environmental at $15.00 a month for in-town customers, with pickup Tuesday through Friday.

  Knob Noster Water Department operates the city's water production and distribution systems: three wells, a ground storage tank and an elevated storage tank with a combined capacity of 700,000 gallons, approximately 1,250 water meter services and 87 fire hydrants. Services include water treatment and pumping, distribution repairs and maintenance, backflow prevention and cross connection services, water quality inspections, and new utility construction inspections.
