Departments

• Administration

  The City Manager is responsible for executing the policies adopted by the City Council. Chief administrative office of the council-manager city.
• Assessing

  The assessing department assists property owners with Homestead classification and works with Hennepin County on property valuations.
• City Clerk Clerk

  The City Clerk serves as the point of contact for most city business license and permits.
• Community Services

  The Community Services Department comprises several divisions, including Inspections.
• Finance Finance

  The Finance Department is responsible for maintaining the accounting system and monitoring compliance with the budgetary controls and financial policies established by the City Manager and City Council.
• Fire Fire

  The Hopkins Fire Department provides fire response, prevention services, emergency medical, hazardous materials response and emergency preparedness.
• Inspections

  The Inspections Department is a division within the Community Services Department.
• Planning & Development

  Handles housing, available properties, inspections, renting and HRA matters for the City.
• Police Police

  The Hopkins Police Department. Handles police records, crime prevention, and crime reporting for the City.
• Public Works Public Works

  The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining the City's infrastructure, buildings, equipment and open space, and for providing services to meet other essential needs of the City.
• Recreation

  Since 1967, the Cities of Hopkins and Minnetonka have jointly planned and provided community recreation for their residents.
