  County animal shelter; open for adoptions 1-4 pm daily. Surrenders of owned animals are by appointment only; strays go to the local Animal Control Officer.

  Operates the Gerard L. Gormley Justice Facility, which houses an average of 1,000 inmates with custody jurisdiction over another 250 sentenced to community programs.
