The City Attorney is elected to a term of office every four years. Duties include representing the city in court for violations of city ordinances, advising the elected officials of the city, defending the city in suits filed against it, and prosecuting actions for nuisance or damage which affect the city. The City Attorney writes the ordinances and resolutions for the city.
